How Basketball Started
A long time ago, a teacher wanted to find a way to keep his students fit the winter. The weather was too cold they needed a game they could play indoors. The teacher thought of an idea: players would pass a ball to each other and try to throw it a basket hanging on the wall.
At first, the game was simple. time, it started to change. The teacher wrote some rules for the game, which he called "Basket Ball." Later, the old baskets were replaced hoops that had nets attached to them, and backboards were added to help the ball go into the hoop.
Soon, basketball became popular in schools and colleges. In the 1940s, a league started to bring the best teams together. This league became the NBA, which now the most famous basketball league in the world. Players join the NBA they want to compete at the highest level and earn good money.
